Bittersweet Tour and Final EP

Following a career spanning 12 years, hundreds of shows, and more than 30,000kms in the tour van, Adelaide’s Mere Theory are calling it a day – but not before they release two new songs, and head out on a final tour with their good friends, Central Coast rockers After The Fall.

After The Fall and Mere Theory will tour in November and December as part of THE BITTERSWEET TOUR, with Mere Theory playing a final headline show at the Adelaide UniBar on Saturday 8 December.

To celebrate, Mere Theory announce the release of the FINAL EP featuring new songs Against The Window Pane and Deliverance, plus Searchlight (feat. John Scott) from Walking In Storms as a FREE (or pay what you want) download through the MUSIC page of this website.

Mere Theory are supporting their sophomore full-length release, Walking in Storms (2011, MGM). Produced by Evan James (The Mark of Cain, Pharaohs) with Mere Theory guitarist Nigel Black at Adelaide’s Broadcast Studios, the album was mixed by Richard Stolz (Bodyjar, After the Fall). The album is available on iTunes, and CDs are available at good independent record stores, through MGM Distribution.

Mere Theory guitarist Nigel Black said “One of Mere Theory’s first tours was with After The Fall, so it’s kinda nice we get to bookend this project with our good friends.”

Good friends abound, with Jonsez, DJ Tania (Goo) & DJ Butterscotch (Josh from In Fiction) signed up for the Melbourne show, and Before The Aftermath (featuring original singer Nathan Dalton), Move To Strike and DJ Sonny Burnett (Bronze Chariot) sharing the stage for the bands Adelaide farewell show.

New MV2 video features YWNW

MT is proud to be a part of MV2’s new online video campaign that features heaps of MV2 sponsored athletes. The video has lots of great skate, BMX and mountain bike footage, captured in awesome detail by filmmakers Brad Gilbertson and Lee Norman (In Fiction) at Topiq Media.

MV2 is a legendary surf, skate and lifestyle brand store located in Christies Beach, South Australia. The store is owned and run by

Eric, a great supporter of local culture. In addition to sponsoring a huge team of athletes, Eric works with the local council to run skate workshops, while other team members are currently building ramps that will be used to train the next generation of skaters.

Eric started MV2 five years ago, and when he approached MT to use one of his favourite songs ‘You Will Never Win’ from our first record Catalan Atlas as the soundtrack for the video we said yes straight away! To celebrate, we’ve released YWNW as a FREE download, or you can pick up the whole album for $10.

Acoustic show with We All Want To

WE ALL WANT TO spent 3 weeks in August 2011 hunkered down over the recording console armed with bouzoukis, tambourines, xylophones and an omnichord, but more importantly an army of electric guitars, loud amps and fuzz pedals. The new album is the sound of a confident rock band turning on and tuning in. Punk rock ist nicht tot.

First single YOU USED TO BE FUNNY is a bratty blast of playground pop, a bittersweet duet done fast and loud. It

will be released digitally and also on limited edition flexi disc from March 2012.

The band are touring in April and May with Plus One label mates Halfway.

You can catch We All Want To (acoustic) in Adelaide on Thursday May 3 at the Exeter Hotel (Rundle Street) w/ Halfway (acoustic) and Mere Theory (acoustic), and in full electric mode on Friday May 4 at the Metro Hotel (Grote Street) w/ Halfway and Nick Barker.
